![]() http://sourceforge.net/projects/lightspark/ This may seem huge and exciting, but it's really more about control. Having open source players means more control over flash content, ads, etc.. If this was ported to other platforms it *MIGHT* be a real funeral for the momentum of HTML5 but I don't see this as a big change in the game, just an exciting side-show. Some people are nattering incessantly about how it has to support DRM to be adopted. I don't think that's valid and it's open source so that's always an opt-in possibillity? As a producer of flash content I really want to do what I can to get the word out for any open flash support since it seems like Google and Apple are dying to axe flash, with Adobe joining right in since they will make huge money selling HTML5 development tools. Don't kill flash!! |
